About Winford

Trustee Winford Adams, Jr. is a proud parent of two Spring ISD graduates and one current scholar.  He is also a veteran educator and passionate supporter of public education.  As a first generation college graduate, he understands the tools our students will need; and the challenges they must overcome to achieve academic and career success.

Trustee Adams began his career in education as an after-school enrichment coach for the YMCA of the East Bay.  He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley before teaching middle and high school mathematics for six years.  After teaching, he earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center.

Since law school, Trustee Adams has worked as a policy consultant for Houston ISD and is currently the Public Information and Policy Manager for the Harris County Department of Education.  In addition to completing the Education Pioneer and a Leadership ISD fellowship programs, Trustee Adams earned the honored distinction of Master Trustee through the Leadership TASB course of professional development and recently the Certificate in Education Finance (CEF) from Georgetown University.
